That's probably it.

Definitely not a casino. My wife's niece had her college graduation there. It's just your basic arena, perhaps a little more intimate than some. Now there might have been a curfew issue. Those country folk do get up early.

That said, it's certainly a stunning setlist. Very much wish I could have been there.

Just got back.....loved the show.....was glad everything was tight and everyone was hot! No mistakes or flubs or anything....everything was SO GRATE!!!!!!

First set had many "river" references, probably due to the area's flooding earlier this fall. Second set I got 2 songs I called for the evening (FOTM and Eyes). Somehow I thought they did Viola this run, but it's so soon after the October run I must have them confused. Glad Viola was solo. IT ROCKED. Casey Jones KILLED. Phil dropped bombs galore, one during the beginning of Slipknot and that is what I remember. Hell in a Bucket wasn't as slow as I've heard them do, or else I was just enjoying the ride. Many songs I saw for the first time- Help Slip Frank's first time I've seen a performance of since Alpine 2002!

Second set had me thinkin of Jerry, smiling, and almost crying. OH, and TONS of dancing.

LOVED IT and can't wait for Chicago!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tsquare, Main was NOT unique? I have every show and Main was off the hook. Incredable shows both nights BUT look at Main's setlist again and tell me that isn't the most unique whacked out set list of ALL times.

the maine setlist is about as run of the mill as they come. the one thing i will give it is the placement of feel like a stranger and brown eyed women. were they swapped from the actual setlist? even then, they've closed a set with brown eyed. nothing new or out of the ordinary played

made it down there with a few hours to spare. picked up a half price GA ticket from a fellow zoner, went to meet rockinbob and the crew at the hotel. had a great time hanging out chatting it up. had a couple beers, couple shots of whiskey, plenty of vapes/bingers. made it down to the lot for a bit, was very cold out. nice vending scene, full blown actually. got in about 6:45 the bathroom line was OUTRAGEOUS downstairs it had 3 urinals and 2 stalls, for the entire floor...they were really strict about where people could walk and i am pretty sure several easy access routes were closed off. anyways, got great floor space down by phil.

called the bucket opener, it was raging, sound was dialed in right from the get go it seemed, bob was in tip top shape, looked a little disheveled, but almost like "yeah, i napped for an hour before this, i'm ready to fuckin' go" phil's bass was thumping my body was electric (from the bass). excellent jam and transition into half step, was secretly hoping for this but i thought it'd be saved for later in the tour like they usually do...very fun, chimenti and jk sounded great bobs vocals were on..jeff and sunshine were providing angelic harmonies, phil was ready to go, some type of saturday night energy bouncing around the room..another really great first set transition slides into big bad blues, another tune i had called for the night, really hoping to hear. i think it's great, bob had a firm grip on the song both instrumentally and vocally, rest of the band utilizing their skill of dynamics to really make this tune stand out from being just another boring blues number, and chimenti's church like wailing on the B3...a digression leads us to althea. a real smooth hot groove, phil just liquifying the sound, JK's guitar work was exploratory, this jam, and all the others had a lot of direction. a pre-song chord tipped off my buzzer to a big river, but it started out a lot slower than usual, leading me to believe they were gonna play maggies farm for a second, but bob started singing big river. it was a great version, and i loved how different it was from the others. it almost had a ratdog feel to it. it was good. when they started that little noodle/jam in E i thought we were getting loose lucy, and all of a sudden, MEAN MR. MUSTARD. i couldn't fucking believe it. the other day i was wondering if they'd ever play it again. i was at phil's birthday when they played it, and thought it was so funny phil was singing it. this made my night, phil was in great spirits, bob was playing with demeanor, and it reassured me is okay right now, and taking it seriously. music never stopped is welcome any day..jam was great but the one transition out the waltz was not spectacular, the load was blown too early on it..casey jones to wrap things up. not my favorite, or even a want but they did a great job with it. it (along with every version, but...) will never hold a stick to the version from ames iowa..phils knees were buckling, end of story.

getting around the place was a huge hassle, especially out for a smoke. was a lot smaller than i remembered it from 2 years ago..but i also think the entire arena was open for that show. saw many familiar faces and had an awesome time chatting with folks. i was never able to return to my spot where all my friends were at. too crowded, and i wasn't gonna deal with it. found a nice spot on phils side next to the soundboard, it was perfect. tons of room.

saturday night to open set 2 was absolutely ripping. they fired right out of the gate for this set. my rockin shoes were on and they were getting a workout. the weight was a complete curveball. if i'm not mistaken, this was only played one other time, and it was the encore at the manchester show of 2010. i'll never forget the collective cheer when they busted it out that night..but tonights was good, but only JK and bob were singing verses. phil did not take one estimated>eyes was a mindbender...the prophet was just cohesively together, weir barking and cheesing ever so gracefully, phil was playing his nautical basslines while jk dove through the deep sea, the transition to eyes was great, and the jams in eyes were awesome. chimenti as usual going off the deep end in the land of dissonance but just machine like jams..earlier during setbreak i was calling a scarlet>fire>estimated>eyes 2nd set opener but after they did the E>E i thought maybe a scarlet fire and it sounded possible and then a stand alone fire. it was great, JK was charging and leading the way. he seemed to be doing it quite a bit on this particular night. like he's not some punk filling a role. he's acting like a member of the band, and he's playing like one, unrestricted. a nice shift to viola. not my favorite but when they're on, it doesn't matter what they play, it's that good. they took this one in a completely new direction before jumping to the third verse...they completely slowed things down, explored the hell out of it, and aggressively brought us back..i was impressed with the musicianship from everyone...dearprudence, another "rare" tune i just happen to always catch..but this was a little more uptempo than usual, bob was delivering with stern emotion, jeff and sunshine were absolutely beautiful. this ended up being a highlight of the night for me. played so well. a big help>slip>franklins to close the set was just what i wanted. phil delivered a GIGTANTIC bomb, my heart skipped a beat for sure. interesting jam, and great move into franklins. the venue was out of control not a single body standing still.

this show was REALLY GREAT. they sounded fantastic. better than most (but not all) of the most recent west coast tour. i was delighted by bob's performance. phil looked younger, he had some sort of vigor, looked like a bird with his feathers all ruffled. JK's step with leadership was awesome to see. sunshine looked great she had a nice lookin hat on that sexy mama

i love the new stage setup. phil has tons of room to move around (as a bassist i totally get it) and he's utilizing it. he is interacting with everyone a lot more, especially weir. also, we are now getting a view of his side playing bass that we previously didn't get. really interesting. JK and jeff like the setup, JK designed little signals like the guitar drop for jeff to come in. they will be able to tap into a force together very soon.

i'm really glad i was able to hit this show. stayed with rockinbob and his crew it was an excellent time had by all. see ya'll in cuse

Not meaning to disagree but Main Setlist run of the mill? Just listened to the board. Let me preface my statistics by stating that I could care less if this band did nothing but play the same song for 3 hours every night! It makes me cry, laugh, and get angry at some of the comments I read about from people who claim they know when a show is good. Everyone who knows anything about judging the band knows that unless you are sober, with your ears to the sound ONLY - the true test comes when you can listen to the musicians themselves with out the drunk a-hole yelling Jack Straw after EVERY song of the first set at Manchester! (Funny thing is the boys played it in the second set - probably to shut this guy up )

Lets just talk about song selection/set list before we get into the actual insanity of how this show was played….Ok, enough said - look at this info:

Last time they played Passenger, I was front row and it SMOKED and CLOSED the set! They have never done a Passenger>Cosmic Charlie to open a show or anywhere

Last time they did Come Together was during Phil’s last birthday run – Abbey Road Album on the east coast. That was 55 shows ago. (2nd EVER)

A first set Born Cross-Eyed only comes from CRAZY first sets. Played in first set only 6 times – vs- second set 17 times (almost 3 times more likely to see this song in second set)

The last deal, stranger combo? How about ONLY one time EVER in 2009 and that was the first Deal breakout of Furthur…..

Brown Eyed Women has NEVER closed a first set. Considering the CRAZY weather on the east coast – and the snow threats pretty cool closer! “Snowed so hard made the roof came in”…(Reminds me of the Cleveland GD show that I was at after the famous missed snowed-out show… I fought the law breakout)

Second set China Cat opener? ONLY done 3 times out of the 33 times this band has played!!! Also, skip ahead to have Rider close the 2nd set? A CHINA / RIDER second set SANDWICH, only been done 1 time before….

When is the last time you heard an early second set Stephen cut short by a 15 minute Dark Start with JK going nuts on a midi… Then to go back into a Stephen with Phil thundering like it had never been played and wont ever again (ya right?)

They have ONLY played Other One out of Stephen>Eleven> ONE TIME (I was there and it was off the hook)

They have NEVER played a complete Dark Star, A Stephen/Eleven and an Unbroken in the same set or the same show for that matter. Those three songs can hold their OWN on any second set during the tour. This would be more of a greatest hits combo then seeing them together!

They have NEVER done a Stella out of UNBROKEN CHAIN. And never gone straight into a Rider out of Stella.(They did a stop and go ONLY once)

11/4/2011 Cumberland County Civic Center, Portland, ME

I: Passenger > Cosmic Charlie, Born Cross-Eyed > Crazy Fingers > Come Together, Deal, Feel Like a Stranger, Brown-Eyed Women

II: China Cat Sunflower > The Mountain Song > St. Stephen > Dark Star > St. Stephen > The Eleven > The Other One > Unbroken Chain, Stella Blue > I Know You Rider
E: Touch of Grey

i suppose if you want to look at some of it that way, some of the pairings were unique to the show. were any songs or material new? no. but in actuality, isn't that what this band has been doing since the start? i've never felt like setlists were plagued with the same songs in the same spots. but they sure as hell repeat a lot of songs, just sliding them in different spots of their setlists. i guess it's just something i've grown accustomed to seeing this band. thanks for some of those little tidbits of information but i have a couple things..

as far as come together, i don't remember one since boston tour opener of the spring.

i don't want you to think i am contesting any of your information or starting with you, i know i can come across as a know it all. it also seems like we both have a knack for setlists and statistics.

i just have one question. if they've never closed a first set with brown eyed women. what was the last song of the first set on 2011-02-11?? the first night of the broomfield run.

also, having seen these guys 86 times, i tend to occasionally take some things for granted

I THINK the casino was ~ 5 mile away. I went from my hotel to the Mohegan Sun something or other (Racetrack I think or perhaps the casino) and saw people with guitars, etc but it was the wrong Mohegan Sun.

Kind show, and open floor GA made it all the better.

Thanks for posting the set-lists, reviews, etc all. Sometimes it gets a bit fuzzy afterwords. Must be a contact high, right?

i picked up the beautiful tapestry for the fall tour its really something else .i was in upper level and the sound was off for the first few songs but the board adjusted and it was awesome after that. we had a great time ran into tye dye dave got our free buttons, met mushroomman and his bother jeff after the show, the second set was great the estimated /eyes was stellar the weight was a real treat as was dear prudence got my fire no scarlet they saved that for the next nite and my terrapin.in the lot before the show the guy next to me miracled a girl with long dreads she was soooo happy i chated withhim for a awhile nice guy jeff was his name he wanted althea i guess his miracle was rewarded.i want to say im very upset with some of the fan behavior. after the show people were falling down left and right due to ballons i caught several just in time one girl i caught was being berated by her boyfriend for being a liteweight, real gent. another jerk with 40 oz in hand was berating his girl for not selling enough trinkets ,real pimp like behavior sad truly sad i tried to help one kid who obviously had too much acid but to no avail he ran outside into the freezing nite hope he s okay people sit down if your going to do those stupid ballons coming too with no front teeth is going to suck help each other out in the lot.it really left a bad taste in my mouth what i saw saturday nite. i may take a break and just listen at home cuz i cant stand to see this shit anymore.
If i told ya all that went down,it would burn off both your ears

don't get me wrong, on paper the Maine selist is a really good one. the order of songs showed some nice creativity. i've also listened to the show and it's wonderful. the band sounds great. i just think there are a lot of songs on that night that get played a lot. from that perspective it's definitely not unique.

You are correct, I must have missed that one in my hazy rant. They did close that night after that sick as heck set with what I heard as Essau with my friends, only to be proven when the set list was posted. Great catch. Point is that I think the Main show was awesome stuff, one i will be listening too plenty of times as I drive from Albany to INDY
