What did you all find so different about this performance musically and regarding their playing, not arrangements or set lists?

The intro to Wheel comes to mind. Very driving and deliberate with enough dissonance to make you still wonder what song they were headed into... Resembled wheel but was just harder driving. Really smokin'!

No Shakedown last night!

Check out Telegraph avenue,
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
I can't come down, I've been set free.

Caught the sunset from the top of the rim for the first set. What a view! Don't miss out on going up there to see the sunset over the bay and you can see a planet in the west. Had a great show, looking forward to two more amazing events. Talk about a juiced place! The view and the smell of the sea air can't be beat. I'll try to find you guys, but it was so crowded last night, tonight even more so.

Went up there too. The view was incredible! I didn't realize how steep that place is.

The tie dye tapestry was one of the most amazing I've ever seen.

Thanks Missing Finger and welcome aboard!

I think very few would argue that the Grateful Dead, and its expanded family of musicians has led the way in american pop rock music experimentation, especially in live performances, duration of time and qualification of the individual musicians.

I believe the music has always changed, from the start. Working Mans Dead / Blues for Allah as an example. Europe '72 / Mars Hotel as another. I expect it to change and welcome it as I always have and and remain delighted they, and taper rob - get out of bed every performance day - to bring it to us here.
