Well on paper it looks like a great show.

Here's something I want to throw out there. Tonight was another six song first set. But judging from the timing (about an hour and 10 minutes) it looks about the same length as many other first sets that had more songs. It appears that they're playing fewer tunes but jamming them out more. That's certainly how it seemed last night.

That was my impression too. I enjoyed it. Really worked well for that Jack Straw.

VERY jammy Jack Straw. Seemed to extend that longer version from AC in April.

If this is the direction they're going in I couldn't be happier. Furthur has lots of wonderful tunes and they can rock out with the best. But what really sets them apart is their improvisational chops. Compare what they played last night to any other jam band out there and I don't think anyone could top it.

This might be a sign of Bobby's renewed health or maybe they've just been playing together long enough that it's purely intuition now. But there were parts of that second set where I was getting chills.

Very tasty setlist tonight. Might have to pick up a CD set at the merch table tomorrow night just to be on the safe side.

Well, tomorrow will be one more Saturday night! Let's hope that Taperrob is free of the kryptonite that prevented his function as our streaming superhero tonight. Goodnight, all. Come back tomorrow, and listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock our souls.
Thank You Jerry

Funny you should ask... My mother says that she went in on Thursday ( I was born on Friday night in '68) and they had given her 3 shots of Demerol by the time I was born on Friday night. She said I slept for my first three days in this world.
