At the Portland show last March they did a really amazing Peaceful Valley...does anyone know who wrote this song? I half-assed looked it up and can only find Ryan Adams connected with the song but why would Furthur randomly cover a Ryan Adams tune? I mean, it was really glorious so i'm glad they did but.....

Also worth noting that Bob sings "Can I still smoke my Sensi and have my coffee up there in heaven with a bottle of wine"...instead of "Can i still smoke my cigarettes..."

It is a Ryan Adams song. They also do Magnolia Mountain, which is another Ryan Adams song. Ryan played with Phil in Phil & Friends a few years ago, and they have kept those two tunes in the repertoire since then.
My wife and I were at that Portland show, and it was a great one - maybe the underrated show of that tour, and you might not know it from looking at the setlist. The Scarlet / Fire was amazing.

that is JK singing peaceful valley, everytime...yes, a ryan adams tune..and yes he played with phil back in 2005 for a brief period...they do a few tunes by him
