fun night. phil was "in the mood" all night, from the get go. he was laughing and flashing that half sideways cheshire grin i know you all know what i am talking about. he said something like "we picked out some choice grateful dead songs for this opening or dedication". family band was excellent, deep dark woods was cool i talked to the bass player briefly at the end of the night. they are quite an accomplished band from canada. the furthur lineup sans jk and backup vox was good. they were doing some HEAVY jamming. weir was weir, but in great spirits. he looked healthy and interested, was having a good time, phils bass was gobbling up whatever sound was coming out of his amps. phils meyer rig sounds champion inside that place now. jackie sounded pretty dang good at times. sometimes he is pulling what sound like warren tones it's cool but i felt like it needed another guitar player. speaking of, sco was in the house i had a chance to talk to him as well he's excited as a pig in shit for the shows. tim is the fucking man hooking me up with a ticket for tomorrow night
