Holy crap. 100 plus GD shows and 20 or so post GD shows and I have never taken notice to this phenomena. Seriously. So do the tarps designate this as a saved area? I would have never known. Can't even say I have ever seen anyone carry a blue tarp into a show. Is this a west cost thing?
I think it is more West Coast. It's definitely a Red Rocks thing. The tarps do designate saved space. There have actually been numerous threads with some heated discussions about the morality of this. I didn't mean to start another one (love you, 83!!), it's just that last weekend a runner made my trip!

Savings space with blankets at outdoor shows GA shows has been going on as long as I've been seein the GD & related. Its just tarps instead of blankets that seems to set people off.
Most east coast outdoor GA areas are "lawn", undesirable, I found it comical to actually see people run with a purpose to find that "just exactly perfect" spot in front, I can relate, just find the whole "beating your neighbor to a spot kinda funny"
