Furthur “Steals” A Page From Phish’s Book in Colorado 9/23/12
September 23, 2012 | by Aaron Fortin
Furthur just capped off a three-night run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado with some setlist shenanigans obviously inspired and in honor of Phish’s now legendary “Fuck Your Face” show played just a few weeks earlier in the very same state. Furthur’s first set and a large slice of the second spelled out “STEAL YOUR FACE.” Read on for the full setlist including a rare cover of the Hank Williams song, “You Win Again.”
“Steal Your Face” Setlist, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO 9/23/12
I: Samson & Delilah, Tennessee Jed, Easy Wind, Alabama Getaway, Loose Lucy, You Win Again, Operator, Uncle John’s Band
II: Reuben & Cherise, Feel Like A Stranger > Alligator > Cumberland Blues, Eyes Of The World, He’s Gone > Viola Lee Blues > Caution > Viola Lee Blues > Black Peter > Viola Lee Blues
Encore: Brokedown Palace
Steal Your Face is a live double album by the Grateful Dead, released in June 1976. The title derives from the lyrics of “He’s Gone”, a song that does not appear on the album. “Like I told ya, what I said, steal your face right off your head.” It was recorded in concert between October 16th and October 20th, 1974, at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom.
