Detroit Police say two alligators were found at a Detroit apartment complex Monday night, according to WDIV-TV.

One alligator was taken into custody after being retrieved from an apartment complex in the 8300 block of East Jefferson.

The apartment is near the Detroit River, though police had no indication where the gators came from.

Before being caught, the alligator briefly got away, causing police and residents to run from the two foot reptile. See the Channel 4 video here.

The other alligator left the complex and is believed to have gone into the Detroit River.

I bet they blow the doors wide open tonight.
