Who gets you funked up? Just caught RonKat Spearman at the Mission Carnaval street fair. Nothing lacking there; blew me away. They looked like the B-52's, hairwise, and sounded like P-Funk meets Metal. Wow. Catch 'em if you can. How about Freekbase, or Fort Knox Five? Lay some new ones on me, baby; can't get enough of that stuff!

Thanks for the list. We're going to catch Sharon Jones at Stern Grove on June 19. They kicked some serious ass at last year's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass! What a great weekend, and on the Sunday the highlights were Elvis Costello, Patti Smith and then Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings to finish it all off. At least 35,000 beserk fans packed into Mary Meadow, and everyone was screaming by the end. Beyond anything! Caught Dumpstaphunk and will be seeing Vinyl again soon.

Always like Parliament Funkadelic. Deep Banana Blackout is awesome! Lots of cool funky bands I don't know the names of.
