I went to that JGB show. It was supposed to be a couple nights earlier and got postponed, to the same night as Zappa at Jones Beach. I sold my Zappa ticket to see JGB even though I had never seen Zappa live. I ended up seeing Zappa once.
Good Skates Roller Rink transformed in a short lived music venue, it was packed and very hot and uncomfortable. JGB played a hell of a show.
Good Skates in Coram, NY on Long Island. Jerry played there in 1984, on the very same floor where I had participated in a break-dancing contest several months prior. We would always go here for birthday parties. I was about 11 at the time of the epic break-dance contest. The Jerry band show was a ripper, although at 11, I did not attend.
