I just saw him at Harvest Jazz and Blues in Freddy Beach, Canada. Played a sweet Terrapin. I hadn't seen him play in twenty years. I guess I'd forgotten how amazing he is on piano. It will be a fine time. Also got to see John Mayall, Rusted Root, Maceo Parker, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Charles Bradley and Grand Theft Bus last week.

It was a very refreshing show and to paraphrase how he put it himself during the show, "The best time to see me is now, I'm learning something new every day and evolving musically all the time instead of just performing my old popular hit songs."

We didn't get a "Terrapin" but he opened with a song he recently co-wrote with Robert Hunter "Might As Well Be Me" and ended with Hunter/Garcia's "Standing On The Moon".

I really enjoyed the show and taped it too, the show was 1 set about 2 hours. He doesn't participate with LMA, so I'm hoping to put it up on BT.etree if I can figure out what's involved with uploading it there.

hornsby is amazing.
his new album is off the chain.
imho, you can tell if someone has musical taste by their opionion of hornsbey.
he ovbisly isnt like the trendiest guy around, i mean hes not a dubsted dj, or anything
but that cat is got more soul than soultrain, and i totally respect the not wantin to do "greatest hits shows"
those are boring for everyone except idiots.
thanks for the review/and taping.
i saw him solo at a xmas show in 98 at the ryman in nashvegs. it was just him and a grand piano. AWSOME SHOW.
had seen him with the other ones on summer tour, and got hooked. still am.
i would love to see Bob do more shows with bruce and branford.

maybe thats whats bobs goin be doin nov?
on the wesst coast.

Hey Digigal

I went to the Hornsby show in Binghamton and I thought it was fantastic! I have not seen him since 2004 at Turning Stone, and I had never seen a solo show. Please let us know if you post the show on ETree. I would love to have it!

"Please Stand By" I'll definitely be uploading my recording of the show to etree, and will post the link at the top of this thread.

I just adding recording details and set list above. We have an out of town house guest this weekend so it'll probably be up next week.

This show impressed me more than any this year, in fact I'll be recording him again at least once more maybe twice.

Digigal,

I am so impressed that you know the exact names of all the songs. Did you get some help on that, or are you just THAT much of a fan?!?!? WOW!!

I don't think I've ever heard a song live that sounded as perfect as "I Can't Make You Love Me." And I somehow think Bruce's voice has actually improved since I last heard him in '04. I was just blown away by this concert!

I live in Fredericton as well and that was on of the better Havest fest's I can remember, they seem to get better every year, Bruce was awesome but Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jaimoe, The Avett Brothers and Royal Southern Brotherhood made it for me Next year we need Furthur, Ratdog or Phil and Friends!

That "at least once more maybe twice" ... sounds like me and the grateful dead. Sure I'd love to see them again next time they come to Binghamton....Then somehow, the next thing I knew, the band was following me everywhere...

Yikes, and now I need to learn to use eetree....... been avoiding that one.

Thanks Digi, show of the year sounds like a real tasty nugget.
