Just wanted to show you something I’m working on in my spare time.
First off a little background on myself. I’m an AutoCad drafter at a Structural
Engineering office in Akron Ohio and thought it would be fun to document
some of the gear the boys have used over the years. So here is the first one.

and after a few mods….



We are finally going to be getting a 3D modeling program in our office and the first
thing I plan to do is model the Wall of Sound.

I like your work. You did this in AutoCad.....did you draw it to scale, meaning did you have the actual dimensions of the
guitar and draw it accordingly, or is this 'free hand' (or free-mouse? )

Now for your next assignment, add the finish to the body and the neck. Just finished reading Doug Irwin's notes on constructing
Wolf and it's very interesting.

Here is how I developed the drawings.
I took a photo I found on the net of Wolf and imported it into cad so I could
trace around it. I used the actual dimensions for a Stratocaster pickup and scaled the
drawing to match. I offset a line from the center of the bridge 25” to the nut and laid out the frets.

Guess what? It didn’t match up! So I started over with a 25.5” scale and
It works out really close.

I had also heard that Jerry preferred the Fender scale of 25.5” so it doesn’t
surprise me. But it looks like Mr. Irwin’s memory isn’t truly accurate because he says
the scale was 25”.

I then used the same approach to develop the Rosebud drawing, tracing a very nice
photo.

So to answer your question , they are drawn to scale so I can upload pdf files if
anyone is interested in printing them out.

Really nice work. Rosebud and Tiger were always my favorites, strictly from a design point of view.
I like the Wolf logo though. I have it on a hat.
