RIP Earl Scruggs

So sorry to hear he has passed. I am glad I made a point of seeing him last year at HSB here in SF. One of the fastest players I've ever heard. Rest in peace Earl.

Just read the news, sorry to hear of his passing. I was lucky enough to see him a few times in the 70's & 80's. I will always remember his grin while he played. May he rest in peace.
Thank You Cody, we are forever Grateful!

I didn't see you had posted this back here. I posted a thread on the main page. He was a great musician.

wow, sorry too hear this, had not heard, 20 yrs ago I had a Bluegrass radio show on WRFG, "Morning Grass with CW" every Thursday morning for 4 hrs. Lots of fun and met some nice folks. Had him in for a interview once and later went to a show with him. Polite and quiet with a incredibly entertaining dry sense of humor. Remarkable, I remember it to this day. Never did see or speak with him again…..

He's up with the big guys now!

Scruggs was a big influence on Jerry, so he is partially responsible for the Grateful Dead being the Grateful Dead.
