Cornmeal

Pretty much tore down the Ogden Theatre in Denver tonight. They are something else. I have never heard anything like what Cornmeal does and seeing them in a little theatre was crazy I'm blown away ... for a minute there I thought a mosh pit was going to break out, they are that intense!

A force! That's a great definition! I saw them at a small festival last summer and they were awesome, I mean that was the reason I wanted to catch this show, but being inside a theatre was really intense. I'm sitting there watching them and, you know, it's a banjo, a fiddle, an acoustic guitar, an acoustic bass and a simple drum set and I'm thinking how does that sound come out of those instruments?? Really cool.

Yeah they are awesome, Allie Kral is an animal with her fiddling. I first saw them at a tiny place called smith's olde bar in ATL, had to be maybe 100 people there. Maybe like 2009. It was freakin great and has been everytime I see them. Only complaint I have is that their setlists are getting a little stale, but I have listened to a number of shows
If that jubilee don't come, maybe I'll meet you, on the run

If you enjoy Cornmeal, give Cabinet a listen. Here's Saturday's complete show, courtesy of Mr. Keith Litzenberger.

Okay - you convinced me to check them out.
They are playing next week less than an hour away at the WOW Hall for less than the cost of a movie out.
