Today's Furthurmore Friday Question is posted

#99616 2 years, 7 months ago
And as often happens the answer depends on how you read the question.

Week 108

Q: In 1974, how many artists sat in with the Grateful Dead in concert, and who were they?

Of the first 10 correct responses sent to us by emailThis e-mail , one will be selected at random to receive a Tour Poster. Please include your full name and mailing address to be eligible.

I assume when they say "sat in" they mean "played on Stage with". In that case its ez, Ned Lagin (from Phil and Ned); If they include warm up bands too, you get a different answer.

i'm not sure if they count seastones as grateful dead playing, as normally it was just phil and ned as i remember reading notes of a show where in one show they specifically list jerry sitting in on half of the seastones, and it was normally in between grateful dead sets. maria muldaur opened for them on 6/20 at the omni in ATL, but as far as anyone knows never sat in. for both of those i'd say no those don't count.

the only person who really came and sat in that year was none other than mickey hart on 10/20/74, for what was then perceived as the possible last show
who else is gonna bring you, a broken arrow?

Looks like we were both sort of right. They did count ned and Phil. I never even thought of Mickey as sitting in, but he's there too.

Today's (recycled from week 26) question is now up. I got it so its not too hard

Thanks for the reminder, it was an easier one today. Probably a song I'll hear coming from the basement band tonight, too.
