So a few months ago after my cousin gave me the most recent deadbase. I came up with the idea to try and listen to every dead show in chronological order. With help from the tapers compendium, deadbase, archive.org, a long strange trip, illustrated trip etc.. I'm up to april 1969. Anyone else ever try and do this?

heard of people doing it, but I would need a break - that's a lot of shows to listen to!!!!!! Don't think I would enjoy it as much after awhile.-

It gets tough in the 60's, pretty much same setlist every night. The jamming is great though. I've taken a few breaks but I just leave a little mark where I left off and get back on the horse later on haha.-

I used to do that with my cassette tape collection. start at the earliest one and then to the most recent. i would definately recommend it. maybe somebody could write an app to cycle through the archive.org playlist? that would be great.
another good idea is to dig up your old cassettes and an old boom box and listen to a couple old bootlegs. they might sound like crap, but always bring back good memories and have a really warm sound.-

you should get one of the old "100 grateful dead songs" posters and a box of markers for that journey!-

^^^ that's a lot of shows to listen to!!!!!!
I wonder if there is an 'offical' count of how many shows have been played by the Grateful Dead thru 1995. Would that be something I would find in Deadbase? -
