death.
I firmly believe the story of a man and a woman who just survived an apocalyptic moment (you can assume it is nuclear fallout, but why limit it to just that?). Each stanza has 4 lines, the first two lines spoken by the woman, the next two of the man. She is badly hurt and obviosuly dying and delierious- she sees all these people who aren't there, a bab,y a young man, and the fact that there is no one around (but we can assume they should be- they are all dead). Is it her baby crying, now dead? probably. He is not far off himself. the stanza right before the epic jam, she dies and that's when he screams he WILL walk her out in the morning dew.... he will....
It's no coincidence that the big crescendo sounds liks bombs dropping...... the last stanza, it is just him, repeating over and over, it doesn't really matter.... because he will be following her to her grave. I envision him still holding her as he says it, hugging her, etc... just waiting for blissful death to end the suffering.
