8 Lives

#83193 2 years, 10 months ago
Two questions:

Does Phil wear contacts or has he had laser eye surgery?

8 Lives saved through Cody's donation?
- one liver (one person or split for two people)
- two kidneys (two people)
- one heart (one person)
- one set of lungs (if not together with heart) (one person)
- small bowel maybe? (one person)
- pancreas (islet transplant no more diabetes) (one person)
- whats the eight? corneas (not really life saving) or bone grafts (help with those hip replacements)

If your sight was restored from donor corneas, I bet you'd think your life had just been "saved".

And there's also skin, for one or multiple patients, which can be lifesaving for burn victims.

Organ donation is an amazing thing. And don't forget that you don't have to wait until you're gone to donate.

You can be a lifesaver while you're alive by registering with the National Bone Marrow Donor program.
November is National Bone Marrow Awareness month, so there are lots of local drives underway to register folks.
You can get more information here on how you could save a life during your lifetime: Be a Bone Marrow Donor
