When the train rolled up to the station,
and I looked her in the eye.
Well, I was lonesome, I felt so lonesome
and I could not help but cry.
All my love's in vain.

I know this breaks up the regular routine but I think we should dedicate this game to Pigpen today.

Hobo Jungle Rap

You know, one time, I was about twelve years old
I was living on what the people used to say was the wrong side of the tracks
Didn't have no sidewalks
And I had to walk across the tracks to get to the fancy part of town, to my school
Now and then on the tracks, where they used the secondary, down by the end of my street
If you want to call it a street, it was an old hobo jungle
And them hobos, they used to sit down there
And everybody run, you know, they knew that they was down there
But nobody living around, nobody living around there who said no, never mind about it being down
Get twenty five cents for a bottle of wine
Go back to the hobo jungle
Sit down, piece of cardboard on the ground
With a little old, little old milk can, with a hole cut in it
I think of the little stove and eat
"What I like best about music is when time goes away."

Empty pages before my eyes
Do not deny or criticize
Empty bedrooms where I've paid my dues
Watching the ceiling instead of you
Can you tell me where you've gone?
Ain't no one around to hear my songs

I've got some songs that I'd like to sing
Always brings down some other thing
Where can I go, my paths are broken?
It seems like your love is just a token
So won't you stay with me?
Oh, stay with me
And leave it on!

Often lost and forgotten, the vagueness and the mud
I've been thinking I'm working too hard, but I've got something to show

Staring at empty pages, centered 'round the same old plot
Staring at empty pages, flowing along the ages

Been working so hard
I'm punching my card
Eight hours for what
Oh, tell me what I got
I've got this feeling
That times are holding me down
I'll hit the ceiling
Or else I'll tear up this town

Now I gotta cut loose, footloose
Kick off the Sunday shoes
Please, Louise, pull me off of my knees
Jack, get Mack, come on before we crack
Lose your blues, everybody cut footloose
"What I like best about music is when time goes away."

Goin down, down

It was April 27 in the year of 91
About a mile below the surface and the warm Kentucky sun
The late shift was ending and the early shift was late
The foreman ate his dinner on a dirty tin plate

Blood on the track, blood in the mine
Brothers and sisters what a terrible time
Old 97 went in the wrong hole,
Now my number 60 has blood on the coal
Blood on the coal, blood on the coal

The slag pits were steaming, it was 7:25
Every miner worked the coal face
Every one of them alive.
The train came round the corner
You could hear the tressel groan,
But the switcher wasn't listening, so he left the switch alone!

Blood on the track, blood in the mine
Brothers and sisters what a terrible time
Old 97 went in the wrong hole,
Now my number 60 has blood on the coal,
Blood on the coal, blood on the coal.

Everybody's scrambling,'n'jumping around
Picking up their money, tearing the teepee down
Foreman wants to panic, 'bout to go insane
Trying to get the workers out the way of the train
Engineer blows the whistle long and long
Can't stop the train, gotta let it roll on

Once upon a time there was an engineer.
Drove a locomotive both far and near.
Accompanied by a monkey that would sit on a stool
Watching everything the engineer would do
One day the engineer wanted a bite to eat,
He left the monkey sitting on the driver's seat,
The monkey pulled the throttle, the locomotive jumped the gun
And did 80 miles an hour down the mainline run.

Big locomotive right on time, big locomotive coming down the line.
Big locomotive No. 99, left the engineer with a worried mind.

The engineer called up the dispatcher on the phone,
To tell him all about his locomotive was gone.
Dispatcher got on the wire, switch operator to the right,
Cause the monkey's got the main line sewed up tight.
The switch operator got the message on time,
Said there's a Northbound livin' on the same main line,
Open up the switch I'm gonna let him through the hole,
Cause the monkey's got the locomotive under control.

Big locomotive right on time, big locomotive coming down the line.
Big locomotive No. 99, left the engineer with a worried mind.

Nine mile skid on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside.
Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile,
Nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!!

Now he's gone, now he's gone Lord he's gone, he's gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track
He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back...He's gone.
