Seems the Whitcomb is the hotel of choice on the boards but it is too spendy for me.

I always stay in Union Sq, it's a nice walk to the show!! Plus there's a good Pizza place that's open late in Union Sq.

I'm staying at the Whitcolmb, as evidently they're okay with late night antics...

San Francisco is a very nice town, even the seedy parts are better than the seedy parts of other big cities. Most of the hotels very nearby the venue are not fancy. Make sure when you book something that the bed size is what you expect, they use a lot of twin beds due to small rooms and that you have your own private bathroom in your room unless you are fine with sharing a bathroom with the others on your floor. Most of them are pretty old and they like to run up the rates for New Years...Best of luck to you!

Booked a room with two single beds at the Edwardian. Its supposed to be within .4 miles from the show, hope I can find my home back to the room.

Wow, hotel whitcomb reviews are pretty bad. No fridges, paper thin walls and NO BLACKOUT CURTAINS, WTF?? Would love to hear reviews of the hotel from people who stayed there last year!! Thinking about maybe finding another hotel...
