Does anyone miss Drums>Space ?

#74217 2 years, 9 months ago
I come from a experimental music background and drums>space is what lured me into the Dead scene many years ago.
Since then i have grown to love all the Dead's music, but i really miss hearing the drums>space portion of the show.
I know it might be hard to do the Drums part since that was made with the Rhythm Devils...
and with just one drummer, i guess it would be considered a "drum solo" - but what the heck - Let's mix it up !

How about Furthur playing a little "SPACE" for new years !!!!!
Live experimental space music for trippers - yeah baby yeah !!!

Long live space 2012

agreed...live it is pretty awesome, when one is in that zone, but recorded, it gets tiresome.
The Sailor, coming out again, the lady fairly leapt at him.
That's how it stands today. You decide if he was wise.

I miss it a lot, but as I've said before, I don't think Drums can be the same without two people and all of the interesting instruments that Bill and Mickey had to play around with.

Hell yes. Very much.
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
I can't come down, I've been set free.

I saw some pretty incredible drum solos and space was down right scary some times. I wouldn't mind if Phil & Bob took a short break midway through the second set while Joe played drums.

I do. I like cause it a time ti kinda trip out and reflect and groove. I really love when Jerry came out in space and would play with are minds. And they way jerry lead up the next song after space was very anticipated.
And I'm going to sit right here until I die

how about a marching drum band (accompanying Furthur ) that starts outside the venue and works their way on to the stage and then " exit stage left " for some sweet space music to over take the air.

or how about guest percussionist just for the interlude

or a guest Micky appearance just for drums>space

if it's all about the music then...
there are endless possibilities and combinations when it comes to drums>space...

don't get me wrong, i love all the songs, but i would mind a little psychedelic tribal trance to give it that extra edge.

Long Live Furthur !

I'd like to hear it occassionally, but wouldn't want to see it become an obligation.
