Cora, Wyoming

#71754 2 years, 10 months ago
I recently visited the Wind River mountains and its sublime granite (as part of my granite tour 2011). On the way there we stopped in the Rock Rabbit cafe in Pinedale, WY. The Rock Rabbit is very head friendly many of Barlows gold records and hand written lyrics on display there. Just North of Pinedale in the tiny hamlet of Cora is the Bar Cross ranch the scene of many of the best Weir/Barlow writing sessions. Any heads who love big granite walls and/or Grateful Dead history should visit this area. Ironically this tiny little town in rural WY really had as much to do with Grateful Dead music as Haight Ashbury.
