You are a Deadhead when you say you are.

I would say it's all about being accepted in the scene, and the scene welcomes all of those kind souls who wish to be a part.

Of course. It's about love of the music. And the scene. And trying to see it played live any way you can.
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
I can't come down, I've been set free.
Who you are, and what you do,
don't make no difference to me.

If you can feel that magic only gd brings then your a deadhead. Don't worry about what others say. I've seen both. I feel the magic at these shows like I did with gd. Welcome to the family.
And I'm going to sit right here until I die

In 1978 I started listening to live GD tapes, I was 12 years old. I considered myself a Dead Head long before my Mom let me go to my first show in 1983. After Jerry died I resigned from being a Dead Head but Furthur has brought me out retirement.
If you love the music you are a Dead Head.

I like FurthurFace

Seeing the Grateful Dead isn't the measure of a Deadhead. Listening to the Grateful Dead is.

when i started touring i felt like i was "officially" a deadhead...but for years before that i was all about the music, soaking it all in...i didn't even think of myself one really before other people referred to me as one
