Do they play a lot of I know you Riders in Co?

#62440 2 years, 6 months ago
I would think they would, especially if it rains (I'd shine my light through the cool Colorado rain).

I think they brought back St Stephens in Madison Square Garden 'cause as we know, "In and out of THE GARDEN
he goes"

Plenty of songs like that, Looks Like Rain in higher rotation (in my mind anyway) if it rains (especially in outside shows). Smokestack Lightning in lightning storms, etc.

If you get some extra China / Riders I am jealous

I tried to look on deadbase but there were too many hits for "I know you rider" and "co" they could not be displayed.

If you stumble, make it part of the dance.

they played it last year. Not to mention its a three night run so chances are high of a Ryder. There were also alot of mountain type songs i.e. Mountain Song, High on a Mountain, Fire on the Mountain.......etc
The voices tell me what to say

They have done two Mountain Song > Rider's, in three times they have been in Colorado. I love that hookup. But.....I want to get pounded into the ground with a good ole China > Rider. And feel the hair on the back of my neck rise.

I thought we were just talking about Furthur. Yes, I was at most of the above mentioned. Thanks.

Last years second set (9/17/10) totally epic imo, that Rider is a top version, and I believe it wad the breakout Of Mountain song which is a gorgeous first version with JK nailing some magical note clusters in the ending guitar solo, one of his finest moments in Furthur.

Breakout of Mountain song in Eugene, not Redrocks, but still a mighty fine version of both Rider and Mountain song on 9/25/10. 9/17/10 Eugene and 9/25/10 Redrocks are two top shelf shows in this bands short but steller history.

Thanks very much. They do play it a lot in Colorado, as a relative % of the # of shows they play in Colorado.

The grateful dead played it 5 out of 20 visits to redrocks (Per Deadbase) so 1 in 4...which is pretty high rotation.
Grateful Dead played only 2 shows at Mammoth Co, one had I know you rider - very high rotation (50%)
GD played 5 shows in Boulder (in 2 venues) - 2 of 5 or 40% chance there - again high rotation
Lowest rotation in Colorado McNichols Sports Arena : 2 times out of 13 - which I would guess is average or perhaps a touch above.

It would be interesting to see if the %'s get higher on a rainy day (in the cool Colorado rain).

PS - I love how the spellcheckers recommend bedrocks for redrocks.

Per the site Mushroom Man cited, Furthur has played in Colorado 8 times, and 2 I know you Riders, same 1 in 4 chance.
