I love what I love and I want it that way

What does this mean?

When someone says "I've got my wings"
I've heard it but what does that exactly mean
And I'm going to sit right here until I die

One meaning is the person got their pilot's license. It probably means other things as well. It could be a reference to "It's A Wonderful Life" when Clarence gets his wings.

It's a lot kid thing. There are a million stories on how u get them, but basically they are a wing pin handed down by someone older and more established in the community tellIng them they belong. The first wings were cast by Owsley in the 80's.

meaningless fringe tour lot bs. If the band were handing them out, that would be different yet still silly.

Yes, there is LONG thread about them somewhere, but I still think it's cool when someone is given theirs, as long as there's meaning behind it, and it's not just a trinket.

Hey Dr. Bakes, are you really Bakes brother? Just wondering!

I think it would be cool to get a pin from an older Head at my first show, but I would want to keep it for myself and not pass it along. I'm sentimental that way. I remember reading about the wing pins awhile ago, but it didn't occur to me when I first replied to this thread. I have to start thinking outside the box.
