When the goin gets weird the weird turn pro

Nice surprise

I was able to score back stage passes for MSG . My uncle's firm in the city was given them. Totally stoked. First time in 25 + years this happened. My cousin and her husband will go on their virgin journey at MSG with me and my wife for the show.

Historically I have taken one person to their first show once a tour.

Freaking sweet. I managed to get Backstage passes for the Dead, at Worcester in 09. You don't meet the band, but get
private access to and from. Drinks and snacks in the VIP room. And you can pretty much go anywhere. And you get a cool
laminate as an additional souvenier. Have fun!
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
I can't come down, I've been set free.
Who you are, and what you do,
don't make no difference to me.

We will. I took a shot and just askedmy uncle if he had any pull at the Garden. I know they have some seats for his firm for anything and everything at different arenas. He called me back in 20 mins and just said it so non challant(sp). "Hey nef how about 2 VIP all day passes for wherever you want to go including back stage" I am so thankful.

That's wonderful, you're so lucky!! I've never been back stage at anything Dead related, how cool. I did get backstage for Moody Blues in the early '90's. My best friend knew the keyboard player, so we got all the way back with the band. I even had John Lodge's arm across my shoulders - a memorable moment, but not Bob or Phil! : )

Plus you get to rub elbows with the insiders, who knows who else hangs backstage. I've met Bill Walton at MSG and at the Meadowlands once just dancing with the crowds (not sure if Walton still goes to LOTS of shows, his back is really bad).

I hope to be able to say I shook my bones with Bobby, Phil and a dude in a platypus suit before I die.
