If you are heading to the Missoula show after the Eugene show, you may want to consider Hwy 12 through Walla Walla WA and Lewiston Idaho and over Lolo Pass into Montana instead of the Interstate in WA and Idaho. My family and I just came back from a camping trip and decided on this route versus the Interstate Route (Hwy 90) through Coeur D'Alane and Spokane. It takes about 30 or 40 minutes longer, but a lot of it is in National Forest/wilderness along the Clearwater and Lochsa rivers in Idaho. The drive is a lot more back highway style. There were tons of swimming spots along the Lochsa too. It is a little windy but quite nice. You basically don't see a town for the last 100 miles until you roll out of the mountains and wilderness right into Missoula.
