Good Love!

Pigpen needs some Good Lovin'

#51704 3 years, 2 months ago
I just love Ron. There will always be a special place in my heart for him. No one can do his Easy Wind any justice! I just love his soulful voice. His harmonica playing gets me every time. I can't get enough of his rants during Lovelight. He is very special soul who we lost far too soon! Anyone have any memories of Pigpen or any moments they've heard that they will never forget? I just love meeting the older heads who have gotten to experince Pigpen...And everytime they tell their story they have a BIG smile on their face because he was really that amazing...

This video I can not get enough of. Its also kind of sad to watch because he is real sick but you can tell hes giving it his all for a great performance! I love you Pigpen!!

If he lived longer he would of loved to of played with Koko Taylor and they would have sounded amazing together. PIGPEN rules !!! KING of the BLUES !!!! i love easy wind too furthurflower. I heard the dead do it (without jerry or pen) and what really illuminated the song was the drum beat...kinda similar to the beat of bird song. Have a good day !!

8/6/71 Hard to Handle may be my all time favorite Grateful Dead song. Pigpen was awesome.

He died before I even knew who the Dead were, but he is my favorite. I love hearing him. Any time I can get my hands on old shows, I grab them up.

Don't ease is a favorite, but I do love Hard to Handle. He was just amazing.

YES!!!! A few Sundays ago I was searching the archives for a Furthur show I haven't listened to yet. I found this one and as soon as I seen the setlist I knew it was going to be a killer show!

That second set is SMOKIN! The only other thing that could make it any hotter than it already is are some horns or a harmonica!
