One man gathers what another man spills. (St Stephen)

When Quinn the Eskimo gets here, every body's gonna want to doze (dose)

And my best friend my doctor (drummer) won't even tell me what it is that I dropped (maybe not crazy clapping, but I enjoy the mixed up lyrics)

Really clapping but....From Round N Round.... I rose out of me seat Lord, I had to dance, Started moving my feet, well a clapping my hands.

From the music Never Stopped ... cmon children cmon children, cmon clap your hands

~well the joint was jumpin, going round n round....

"where is the Dark Star?"

I'd respectfully hypothesize that there's only an increase in volume at that line because the part of the crowd singing "dark star" is being yelled at by the other part saying "it's DOG star, not dark star!" ; )

And don't forget "and it's T right here in [insert local name] where the little girls know what to do!"

SunshineSue, can you please share more details about "It's Dog star, not dark star"... I never noticed / realized this but I am intrigued.

Yep, that's an easy question, especially since Lost Sailor is a favorite of mine. The words are, and always have been, "where's the DOG star, where's the moon", as the sailor tries to find his way across the water. The dog star is Sirius, which, if you're interested in astronomy like me, can be found by following downward a line made through the three stars of Orion's belt. It's the brightest star in the night sky. I think audiences just assumed or wanted to hear "dark star". Here are all the lryics, per dead.net:

Lost Sailor
Lyrics By: John Barlow
Music By: Bob Weir

Compass card is spinning
Helm is swingin' to and fro
Ooh where's the dog star
Ooh where's the moon
You're lost sailor
You've been too long at sea

Some days the gales are howling
Some days the sea is still as glass
Ooh reef the mainsail
Ooh lash the mast
You're lost sailor
You've been too long at sea

Now the shore-lights beckon
Yeah there's a price for being free

Yeah the sea birds cry
There's a ghost wind blowin'
It's calling you to that misty swirling sea
Till the chains of your dreams are broken
No place in this world you can be

You're lost sailor
You've been way too long at sea
Now the shore-lights beckon
Yeah there's a price for being free

Drifting yeah drifting
Yeah drifting and dreaming

'Cause there's a place you've never been
Maybe a place you've never seen
You can hear her calling on the wind
Go on and drift your life away
Yeah just drifting and dreaming
Maybe drift your life away
Drifting and dreaming
Yes I'm going on a dream
Maybe going on a dream
Maybe going on a dream

I did not know that. Does he actually sing "dog star"? I've always heard "dark star". I'll have to listen to a few versions now.

He really does sing "dog", but the two words sound so much alike that it's easy to hear whichever one you're singing in your head. : )
