Anyone mentioned New Riders Yet?
I have dreamed of some kind of DNB line-up opening for Furthur. There. I said it!!!
The DNB would be Perfect sharing the stage with Furthur
I wouldn't view that as an opener though , thats more like a Co-Headliner gig

Re: FAV. BAND/MUSICIAN TO OPEN/SIT IN WITH THE DEAD?#6259 3 years agoI have an old 60's version of "Look On Yonder's Wall" by the Grateful Dead, but the person singing isn't from the band. Whitegum says it might have been Paul Butterfield. If it was him, then you can add that to this discussion.

Re: FAV. BAND/MUSICIAN TO OPEN/SIT IN WITH THE DEAD?#6281 3 years agoLoved the sax player sit-ins, Ornette Coleman and Branford Marsalis
John Popper on harp for Wang Dang Doodle was pretty damn sweet
John Fogerty was alot of fun
Also, always enjoyed when Mickey's friends would join in for drums
I don't consider Bruce Hornsby a sit-in since he was a member of the band, at least for a year
the Steve Miller sit-in in Vegas was a definite highlight
For openers, Traffic was my favAll good things, in all good time.
