More or less in line

This is really too bad. But what can you do? As far as audience tapes, they can be streamed from the archive. I believe most of the
tower run is up.
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
I can't come down, I've been set free.
Who you are, and what you do,
don't make no difference to me.

Man, that sucks about waiting four months for a stream.
I'm not very technologically savvy, so I wouldn't know the first thing about taping or file sharing or ripping or any of that stuff. But I do love this wonderful music and I really dig that Uncle John / GDradio can make it happen. I would hope and expect then that Furthur should make more live streams available, especially since the New Year's stream was a dud. Not everyone (especially me) has the ways and means to make a travelling tour feasible, but I surely can turn on my computer every night to tune into a realtime live Furtur show. It would only magnify the anticipaiton for the one, single show that I am able to attend this tour...

Just my $.02:
I'm a taper myself, and I personally have no problem with streaming our music live. I welcome it, in fact.
There are, however, other factors and other people involved, and Jill and I are in the minority on this one.

Advertising dollars are real. It's about return on investment for this small business owner. When my wife says tell them we are not interested and don't call us again, I relay the message. Coincidentally, I dealt with this today. The business still has at least a zillion times more goodwill than this.

Can we remedy the situation and hear the music once again?
That would be really great...we do just want to hear it ... It's just us heads expanding our minds with the music...
It is being done with good intentions .. I do know that for sure!!

ps Tonight's show at Radio City was awesome!
Thank you Furthur Folks!!! I had a wonderful time!!!

Just to be clear, if the GD leaked their sbd's to audience members back in the day, that's one thing. But investing in the recording/mastering and lightning quick distribution of this music is worth a little more money, imo, so I think it's perfectly fair to limit free access to these shows for four months. Out of all the things to get worked up about in this world, certain deadheads always seem to focus their wrath on their decreased ability to exercise their own selfishness. Kind of a sad state, I'd say, especially when AUD streams are freely available.

One idea, though, is to stream these shows quickly on the Sirius Channel, since it's a subscription service. That way, the band can promote its product while still promoting its channel...

80's Grateful Dead Run Marathon on gdradio

#5308 3 years ago
Nows that entertainment. It just puts a big smile on my face to hear some on Dan Healy's "Experiments in FM broadcast", from such notable venues such-as Frosty- Greek's, Pittsburgh Civic, Oxford Maine and some Hampton shows have recently rocked my world (and are on my wish list please, Mr Ganz.)

After hearing several of last summer's Furthur Tour 2010 on GDRadio, I was more than happy to choose to buy 6 shows (on plastic disc) that I thought had crushing sound. The Sherman Theater 7.5, Oxford Maine 7.4, It's All Good 7.9, Cisco Ottawa Blues Fest 7.7. And then Marcella and I visited NYC for our bite of the BIg App. and we took in two fun shows at the Nokia Theater. Bought those CD's too.

I'm know that the Radio City Music Hall's acoustics will make for a sweet sounding capture that is just as clear today as it was for acoustic Grateful Dead in '81.

Being a recent BM transplant survivor myself and not able to attend and mingle up close with the fans as I would like to do... GD Radio provides an affordable, (no-commitment) safe way of bringing out that good-vibe inside me that breaks thru all of the pain.

ThankYou David Ganz and staff. My friend Roman will be seeing you in Atlanta. And I'll be buying that Fox Theater show too. Cubby
