I wanted to thank everyone for the Vibes and kindness on this thread. My wife died from a ruptured esophageal varice last Sunday night. I don't have the internet anymore so I don't get to check in anymore but wish all of you the best.

Re: VIBES For Mindreaders Wife!#20945 2 years, 1 month agoMindreader and your wife,
Back in 2003 I found out I was at 15% kidney function. I was working full time, coaching soccer and didn't realize I was even sick. I have been diabetic since I was 12, and didn't take care of myself, especially on the road. A lot of drugs, not taking insulin, etc., etc. When I found out that I needed to have a kidney transplant I was shocked, scared, mad, pissed off, every emotion except for good ones. I sat down to try to write a letter to send out to family and friends to see if they were interested in helping me out by donating a kidney to me and it was one of the hardest things to write. I felt selfish for even asking. My big sister called me and said she was going to get tested to see if she was a match. Luckily she was a perfect match. I thank my stars every night for such a wonderful gift. I still get teary eyed when Phil does the donor rap at shows.
My sister named her kidney Lola after the song. "Walks like a woman, talks like a man." She has a great sense of humor. She even had a going away party for Lola where she served Bloody Mary's, kidney bean soup and spare ribs, played organ music and invited like 50 some people. It was a great party. Since that day, April 28th, 2004, I took control of my health and things are pretty good now. The outpour of support and the people, friends and relatives that were offering themselves to help me out was amazing. Even people I didn't even know offered. Its a wonderful thing the human compassion.
Transplants are amazing things now. The medications are unbelievable, the medical support systems are tremendous. So with all that said, my thoughts and GOOD VIBES are with you and especially your wife. Let me know if there is anything you need help with, want to talk to someone who has been there before, whatever.

Re: VIBES For Mindreaders Wife!#20946 2 years, 1 month agoDear Mindreader, I've been sitting with my mom in her final hours, reading some poetry to her~ thought this was beautiful...
Silent friend of many distances, feel
How your breath enlarges all of space
Let your presence ring out like a bell into the night.
What feeds upon your face grows mighty from the nourishment thus offered.
Move through transformation, out and in.
What is the deepest loss that you have suffered?
If drinking is bitter, change yourself to wine.
In this immeasurable darkness, be the power that rounds your senses in their magic ring,
The sense of their mysterious encounter.
And if the earthly no longer knows your name,
Whisper to the silent earth, I'm flowing.
To the flashing water, say: I am.
My deepest condolences.Someday, everything's gonna be diff'rent... when I paint my masterpiece
