Wavy Gravy fans?

#43653 3 years, 2 months ago
On XM Radio's "Tales From The Golden Road" program yesterday, David Gans interviewed Wavy Gravy live from The Gathering of the Vibes. Wavy is always a great interview subject. I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie about him, "Saint Misbehavin'", which is coming out on DVD this fall. He really is an American hero for all that he has done to help people, from SEVA to Camp Winnarainbow and everything else. One cool thing they talked about yesterday is how Wavy was in charge of helping people on bad acid trips at Woodstock. They set up tents where they would talk people down (i.e. "Hey, Steve, you've taken a little acid and you're going to be okay......" Once the tripper was grounded and feeling okay again, they would then be put in charge of talking down other people, since they had just made the same journey. Pretty cool stuff.

Definitely a great human being and an important member of the family. Not a bad ice cream flavor, either!

Wavy rolled up in a cart to the front of the stage for a song or 2 of Gans set. When his set started there were probably less then 10 of us there but quite a few people came during it. I thought he was good, I was looking forward to seeing him there. just sucked having to miss the begining of Dr. John

Wavy was a cool MC throughout the Vibes

Saw the trailer last night and it looks very interesting. There seems to be a lot more to the man than just being a hippie clown, it seems like he really cares and got a lot of heart. And thats a thing that sure seems to e missing alot now adays.

My vote would be for "Mudpie", + "Americone Dream". It's all good.
