I would practice by heaving some small dogs or even platypi around to get a good feel for what you're gonna be workin with.
You could even duct tape a couple hamsters to a cat to get same effect a batter gets when putting a doughnut on his bat when he's on deck waiting to go up

some dogs liked to be picked up, but you should see their eyes when you throw em, they look like, "Oh shit!" It didn't take long for the manager at the Humane Society to throw me out.

If its a china cat, then its your arm length in ft. divided by 5. Pegnant or nursing cats should not be swung. Male cats may scartch your eyes out, but have fun

In a related story, live cat tossing should only be done in freeway medians, naked, while smoking PCP. Its like playing Russian roulette.
