Wow, cool story. Listening from Stella Blue to the end right now and it's sounding very tight! Stella is amazing. Thanks for sharing

Just finished listening to the second set. That really is awesome, every step of the way, from the Touch stuck in the middle of Scarlet>Fire, to that beautiful Stella and then of course the long Dark Star. Heck, even the Miracle is good! It's nice to get reminded of these important gems that can lost in all the volume of material sometimes.

Good to see you took the time to give a listen..
There was often something special going on at the Greek shows...often, songs sound fresh + unique
They often tried something different there..one show they rolled one of the Hells Angels Harley bikes onstage for space and fired that baby up..

What made the place special?
Home crowd, perfect sound (the aud, tapes were always crisp), ideal size venue with an intimate feeling, especially in the bowl ..and always a 3 show run

Also, they stacked the show starting times
Friday: 7pm start The night show
Saturday: 5pm start 1st set in the light of evening, night time for 2nd set
Sunday: 3pm start The daytime show
This meant 3 completely different feeling shows with less than 24 hrs in between so you felt like you were back there in the blink of an eye

The Wheel intro with the bells is damn cool and Healy's echo effect on Jerry voice the 1st set of lyrics on that great Stella Blue work so much better than when he used to to that with Weir's songs

The Dark Star is perky, they sound pumped up from the start..the meltdown jam after the 1st set of lyrics and the jamming from Jerry's solo right after that and for the next few minutes is some of their best jamming from that era ...then they hit a lazy patch where the energy loses focus before rallying like champs for the last few minutes.
