Places the dead was banned, why, allowed back?

Berkeley Greek got me thinking about this. These fall shows will be the first time since the eighties i beleive.
Go to Terrapin, no really go to TERRAPIN

If I'm not mistaken, they were banned from Hampton Coliseum in 1989 so they played under the name the Warlocks.

They were banned from Alpine Valley after the 1989 run, but did play there post-Jerry.

They were banned after Spring 1990 Hartford Civic Center, lots were arrested.

i do believe Merriweather Post banned 'em 85? but JGB was back 89.

as for most of the places allowing them back my guess is due to finances vs hassle.

They were going to be banned from Highgate VT and the Knick in Albany after 95. Both of those were simply chaos - and not in a good way. - I think Highgate never had another concert of any kind after the Dead in 95. Tens of thousands of ticketless ripping up fences and trampling fields... bad scene, especially after how cool the scene had been the year before. A week later in Albany - (which is a smaller indoor venue for those out west) there were drunken moron posers throwing beer bottles at cops from a parking garage, among other things...

Another one that comes to mind is Star Lake outside Pittsburgh - story I heard was banned after two shows in 92 because too many gate crashers, who actually broke down permanent gates.
