Jim James has told Rolling Stone that Bob Dylan might be interested in collaborating with some of the acts he’ll be touring with on the upcoming Americanarama Tour, which will feature Dylan, My Morning Jacket, Wilco and, on occasion, Bob Weir and Beck. In their latest issue, the magazine reports that, “While the Jacket have opened for Dylan on other tours, James has yet to meet the man (‘Ten years ago, in Louisville, his security kicked us out of backstage,’ he recalls.) But this time around, he’s heard Dylan might be open to collaborating with his tourmates.”

Dylan hasn’t sat in with any of his tourmates since August 2003, when he joined The Dead, and consequently Bob Weir, at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center. The two Bobs played on the same bill at Hershey Park Pavilion last year, but they never joined forces during the show. We certainly hope that some collaborations go down on this upcoming tour, which has a pretty high potential for greatness.

Would be an impressive show if the two Bobs would join together, even if it was for just a couple of songs.
