Would definitely have to be Augusta, ME in '84. First night was good, but second night was great by any standard for almost any period of the Dead's existence. 10/12/84, the best show i ever saw. First Playin' reprise from the night before. The first set was incredible. Closed 2nd set with Morning Dew and Good Lovin' as the encore. Faces were melting.

Glad you were there for what was a very special night. Could swear I saw some of the boys on stage passing around a doobie.

Were you at the next show in Hartford (4/14)? What a contrast I thought those two shows were. Set lists on paper can be deceiving>

Alabama Getaway
Greatest Story Ever Told
Dire Wolf
Little Red Rooster
Dupree's Diamond Blues
My Brother Esau
Loser
New Minglewood Blues
Row Jimmy
I Need a Miracle
Might As Well

China Cat Sunflower
I Know You Rider
Samson and Delilah
High Time
Estimated Prophet
Eyes of the World
drums
China Doll
Throwin' Stones
Not Fade Away
Turn on Your Love Light

no encore

It had nothing to do with there being no encore. On paper it looks like it could have been a barn burner, but alas...
We were pretty elated going into the show as the Tigers had just won
the world serious. Jerry definitely did not seem to be all there that night, for whatever reason, and Bobby seemed a bit perturbed about that. Those are my recollections.

I really enjoyed the last Boston Garden run of 94'. Yes, there were some tired moments but there were also some beauties..like the foolish heart on 9/28/94...many claim it was the last great foolish heart they did. Something about the feel of the band there combined with the old rundown Garden...fond memories and definitely the end of an era.

I can't believe no one has mentioned 7-17>7-19-1989 Alpine Valley. First night the return of We Bid You goodnight after years. This is the downhill from here show. The 18th was hot too .. but 7-19 was just picture perfect Grateful dead. The vibe, band, audience (camping in the field not a parking lot...) were all 10 pluses. I could write a book on these 3 days alone.

As far as a 2 night stand..............Merriweather Post Pavillion 1985. ..6/30 my favorite show ever
attended. Night 2 phenomena;l too. As far as a "run" Hershey>Merriweather 2 was never matched in my concert attendance
"career " If you were there you know this.

I'm thinking this is an easy one-
from my personal experience.....

RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL..*** NYC******

Sometime in 1980, after May, (my 1st. tour) and before Nov.(off to FLA.).
8 nights of BLISSSSS
(actually only got into 6 of the -
but still- that was the best consecutive holographic laced party I recall,

now I just remembered a seemingly endless run of BIG AUDIO DYNOMITE shows in NYC, in the mid 1980's, i think at Irving Plaza, something like 7-9 nights, they just kept adding them. That was really GREAT!

Wish I could be in Portchester for upcoming festivities, How fun will that be! All of you lucky peeeps out there that can go- so much amazing stuff happening in deadhead land. That wine festival sounds nice too- but as Lou says, some of us, we gotta werk. Can anyone say STREEEEAAAAAAMING?

Maybe it's cuz I have reasonably clear memories of these 2 from Greensboro:

3/31/91 Dark Star tease
4/01/91 Dark Star

Think they played one of these on Sirius/XM last week
Thank You Cody, we are forever Grateful!
