Its colored pencil on special paper
I know the words a hard to see because I took photos of the drawings in order to post them because my scanner got toasted
These are name poems for Cedar and River, Mike and Beths sons.
River of Water River of Flame
May Love and Compassion
Be your Way to Fame
The Tide will Come and Go
Yet you will always Flow
Pure
As Crystal Waters of the Sun
May You as River ever Run-

- Life is sweeter for this!
The pictures and poem are both beautiful, Paige! Looks like beauty springs from adversity once again.

I needed a coffee table for my pad and had been looking for one for a while. I kept seeing this wooden crate next to the garbage for a while. Even though the crate looked weathered, it was very sturdy. I brought it home with me, sanded it down and stained and sealed it.
I turned the crate upside down, the bottom of the crate had 4 bays of a 2 inch inset separated by supports, with the bottom of that being the actual bottom of the crate opposite side. I glued 2, 1 inch support blocks in side each bay to support the 1 inch pieces of poplar to fit in each bay to create a full table top.
I got 4 pieces of poplar to fit into each of the 4 bays to fill in nicely around the supports.
I wanted to create an image that would be seen as the same, if you were on the front or back of the table, like a playing card. I was thinking of doing a gd type design, and eventually went with something tropical. Each piece of poplar was cut to all outconditions to fit nice. Then I started working from the middle, outwards..clouds, sun, moon, stars, coconut trees. All images were left to dimension, as all surrounding areas were carved out with a dremel. All pictures were painted, and the recessed areas were blot stained with a paper towel, leaving a lighter effect, and giving emphasis to carved areas.
All that was left to do was cover in glass
