So a while back, we lost a good friend & neighbor down the street when our friend Greg lost his battle with cancer. Shortly after he passed, I found myself out in my shop & without even thinking about it, I started making this chair.
It wasn't until I was a couple sessions in, that I realized I was making this chair to Honor Greg's memeory. From there on, every time I worked on it, I would think back to the good times we had & think about how much he would enjoy this lounger out on the deck in his back yard.
The real payoff came yesterday when Lori & I took this chair down to Greg & Marcia's house & presented it to Marcia. I told her how this particular design is referred to as a "Morris Chair", but she agreed, it's Greg'sChair.

love the work,got a question for ya,i thought cedar dint need sealing and that by sealing it you take away its ability to smell nice and ward off mildew on its own.I'm currently looking at cedar planks to do my bedroom closet and they said to not use any sealers and cleaners on the wood.Are you doing it because its outside furniture? dont take this the wrong way just wondering is all.

No worries....Yes, I only put something on them since they are outdoors & get a lot of water. I made a BIG potting bench for the wife a few years back & when done, gave it one coat of Thompson's clear & now, afew years later, it is silver-gray & you'd never know it had been treated. I don't know much about interior use, since almost everything I make is outdoor stuff, but it would make sense to me to leave interior uses untreated.

Man that is awsome great work, are these set for production anytime soon or is this a one and done proto-type? Very cool background story too, put a smile on my face.
