We must become ourselves before someone else does

That is really nice... Reminds me a bit of this impressionistic painting, which a friend gave to me some years ago. It's old, very Monet like, painted on linen, not signed though. Always wanted to determine it's provenance....

Wow, those are very, very cool photos, lightchaser!! That top one gives an illusion to me like it's the texture of handmade paper.

Hi Pink!
I will answer the question that you asked me about this picture on the DNB Valentines Holiday Love Extravaganza thread.
It is an antique burlesque photo taken at Moras in Ny, NY possibly around 1890. I painted, drew, and colored it by hand and ditigally.
So there you go. Most, but certainly not all, of my art is mixed media. I think it is boorish to say one methodology or technique is better than another. It is best to be skilled in all of them though, because an adroit artist is free to use whatever is clever to to achieve the end result.

I love your beadwork too! I do that sometimes also.

This is a current beadwork project. My friend Jackie sent me these beads Feb.2013 after the fire to replace the ones I lost.
She is a real sweetheart.
This began as a necklace and it became bigger until it was bigger than necklace size. So I will add to it and it will end up as an intricate bellydancing belt.
I need red garnets now.
