How could they possibly be making any money at these prices? I grumbled about Furthur tickets, this is the opposite end of the spectrum. Makes little sense to me.

I know what ya mean but they play ALOT of dates, constantly touring all over.

I agree. They constantly play. The Casino Showroom holds about 800 people. Buying the tickets direct, there is no fees. some were 10/15/20 dollars. I ordered 6 tickets and they told me $90.00 even. I could not believe it!!!

You going DM? How much are tickets for the shows there? I try to catch them a few times a year, but this is the cheapest I have paid in a long long time. I mean cmon, some seats were 10 bucks. Are you freaking kidding me?

first off you need to remember there are no taxes for them to pay.
secondly, the band may be keeping all of the revenue from the ticket prices because the casino will be making money from the folks who will be gambling, drinking, eating and staying at the hotel.

At 15 bucks x 800 there is not much revenue.

Tickets arent too high because they are just a cover band.
They used to sound alot better.
I saw them in Burlington VT and Eugene OR back in like 2001.
They sounded way better back then. I think they are boring these days and lack the energy they use to pump out.
From what ive heard of thier videos today they sound slow and weak.
I never enjoyed cover bands too much to begin with though.

So any band that plays covers is a cover band, like the New York Philharmonic or maybe even the Grateful Dead? They did play alot of covers.

My only recollection of a higher priced dark star orchestra show was this past Dec 30 and 31 at the paramount in New York. The 30th was 35 plus fees, and the NYE show was 49.50 plus fees, it was such an excellent set of shows BELIEVE ME they were fantastic and I couldn't believe it. I did not mind paying the few extra dollars being it was the NYE run. Every other time it's normally about 30 dollar ticket, could be alil less than that or alittle more. But worth every penny. And I must add that the grateful dead played covers they did it in their own style, same with furthur, I'm sure dark star orchestra is a cover band they try and sound identical to the dead and play only what the dead played in the deads style. And they actual do sound identical, just missing the true spiritual vibe the dead or furthur or Phil brings, and also the voices of bob and Jerry but they resemble them to a point but they do alot more jamming then singing so it don't matter lol
Broken heart don't feel so bad, you ain't got half of what you thought you had
