Scarlet > Victim > Fire

#232883 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Sorry if this has been posted already, but I just found this show and the Scarlet>Victim>Fire is incredible. I've never been a fan of Victim Or The Crime, but the transition is haunting.

Sure don't know, what I'm goin' for, but I'm gonna go for it for sure.

They could get downright nasty as they transitioned out of Victim. Check out these if you like that darkness:
gd90-07-19.sbd.walker-scotton.miller.95783.sbeok.flac16 (great sound; heavy on Phil, and Brent is on fire; sharply played first set with a great They Love Each Other, Row Jimmy, Althea; destructive segue from Victim into Foolish Heart)
gd91-03-21.sbd.miller.87289.sbeok.flac16 (great Brent stuff with some massive distortion near the end; good Birdsong, too)
You aren't interesting or clever when you write or speak in the lyrics of others. Rather, what are YOUR words?

Always loved that show. It's Hornsby that leads the guys into that. I remember riding in the car with my parents and having this tape in the cassette deck (child of the 90s) and the two of them saying, "This is really dark. Can we listen to something else?"

I love VOTC! I don't know why people hate on it. It was such a nice jam launching pad. Thanks for the samples Zeno.

"Patience runs out on a junkie, the dark side hires another soul."

With an opening verse like that, it's not surprising how some didn't dig it. Not a huge fan myself, but they generally seemed to play it with energy. The song seemed to follow me. saw it a ton of times. That 8/16 show is one of my faves, only first set DS I can recall.
Right now, I can't read too well...

i was at the 8-16-91 and 7-19-90...

8-16-91 is an underrated gem of a show...high energy, pretty tight, and a first set darkstar, which was short, but sweet

I never liked Victim but it's still better than music from any other band.

Uhh yeah! This is one of the best I have seen without a doubt. Hornsby literally ruled this show

I remember listing to this stream and enjoyed the hell out this. Victim is not a song that I might choose when listing but when I get on a surprise, "cause its not over played" I like it. Great scarlet fire sandwhich.
And I'm going to sit right here until I die
