Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Launches

Not by any means a endorsement by myself. The GOP shrugged him off in '08. He has a ton of young "legalize it" support. He was also "tea partying" before it was cool.

Please check it out and make your own conclusions. Please remain objective with discussion.

Any poli-science intellects here?

He may have a couple of "good points", but most of his views are extremely right-wing. He's for super small government, too small if you ask me, and for the elimination of the following - U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the US Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Interstate Commerce Commission, the EPA, and the Internal Revenue Service. While not all government bureaucracies are necessary, many are essential. He's basically for almost zero government assistance of any kind. If that's the case, then what is the point of government? I like the fact that my taxes pay for hospitals, fire departments, schools, assistance for the poor and elderly, oversight of environmental regulations, etc. While I understand there is much waste and things could definitely be improved, I don't think most everyone should be punished few a few bad apples and some inefficiency. IMHO.

@ J Straw, nice work! Did your own research, formulated your opinion. That is what we need much much more of.
