I am the Transportation Manager for a produce wholesaler. We grow, buy and sell onions, potatoes,apples and carrots all across the lower 48. Any of you that buy red onions, they are selling at an all-time high. I recommend a sweet Vidalia to compensate at a much lower price.

^^^do you deliver to Fresh Point in Miami? That's the company I buy from.

I've never heard of Fresh Point, but I've only been with my current employer for 6 months or so, Our major accounts are a few well-known suppliers to the public and restaurant only suppliers. It's difficult sending trucks to Miami because it's hard for some trucks to find a load coming out. I can definitely ask one of our salespeople if they've heard of Fresh Point. You never know..........

Fresh Point is actually owned by Sysco which we also buy some of our frozen and dry from. We buy a lot of organic produce for our small grocery store we have in our warehouse. Red onions are way to high in price, I was selling them for 2 bucks a pound last week. Lettuce and spinach are also at record prices. It happens every winter.

I'm a biologist which is cool but I work for corporate America which sucks.

I too, "have a steady job haulin' items for the mob". At least the pay is not pathetic and it does finance the photography. Despite a Biology degree, I drive a truck for a company we all know and love!
