Library of Congress National Jukebox

Since this got a grand total of 2 views on Music Talk, I figured I'd post it here.

National Library of Congress just issued tons of really old tunes on the Internet. I don't think it will make you forget the archive, but it is cool.

Thanks. That's really cool. I'm sure I will think of something to search for soon but....

I just had the same experience there that I often have with google....

I opened the page and stared blankly at it, totally unable to think of one song to search for.

The same thing happens everyday when I start my computer, open up google, and stare at the blinking cursor in the search bar. I laugh because I know that the entire pantheon of human knowledge is at my finger-tips and I can't think of one thing I'm interested in learning about that I don't already know.

This stuff's from early 1900s, so just dive in. I think the value is more in the novelty and history of hearing some of the earliest recordings.

I just went from that to TRI Studios and am listening to Sugaree..... Long strange trip indeed.
