Why did Furthur pick such a small venue? I'm on the other side of the country so I couldn't go, but it seems frustrating for a lot of you. Did they just want a quaint venue? Exclusivity never seemed a Dead/Furthur tagline

Bob has an ownership interest in this place:
A local venture that is comprised of multiple investors including Bob Weir (Grateful Dead, Furthur) and other longtime supporters of the club, the Sweetwater Music Hall is a state-of-the-art nightclub and café that not only presents nationally recognized top-quality entertainment but also will provide a comfortable home venue for local and emerging talent to perform and experiment.
And they play at Phil's place Terrapin Crossroads from time to time.
It is frustrating only from the standpoint that you really want to go and the tickets are so hard to get. But once you do it once, it is clear, IMHO, that it is worth it.
I saw them play at TXR last June and it was the best experience I could imagine. I am sure Sweetwater will be the same. The sound is just so amazing and it is so comfortable and you are so close and.........like I said, its worth it.
