In Tahoe over the weekend we got 5 feet and another foot last night, the skiing has been awesome!!

Heck yeah it snows where I live. Just 20 minutes from a Pass that averages over 450 inches per year.

So this past week we have received around 11 feet of snow at the Pass. Like Tahoe, the skiing is freaking awesome.

Usually, we don't get too much of the heavy stuff. I'm near the great lakes, but am in a sweet spot, that doesn't get
the heavy lake effect snow. However, It's snowing hard right now. Big storm moving through. Mother nature must have
known I was planning on flying tomorrow.

Nothing but powder skiing. The link actually has two old vids but the one to the far right is from Sunday last as it started and kept coming through yesterday.

Speaking of Avys, take a look at the below vid from one of our local mountains. Around 5 mins in as a group of skiers are traversing out, a sympathetic (meaning natural) avy occured burying a woman. Its amazing real time video.

We get some snow, but usually it's only a few inches, rarely more than a foot.
But with Kansas so flat, there's nothing fun we can do with it.
Also with no hills around the winter weather just blows in from Colorado and points north, making it crusty, sleaty, and just plain nasty.

But, then again, we also get blessed with more than a few freak warm winter days, which helps us get thru til spring.
