was reading recently sometime in the 80s JGB and Zappa shared a bill... would of been interesting though I'm pretty sure Zappa hated the whole hippie thing.

I still love him
They played a co-bill in Chicago. A while back, here on the FF, there was a post from someone who went to the show. I recall that he said Zappa played Illinois Enema Bandit which is fitting for a show in Chicago. I always wondered about that show too!!
Drove through Maryland a few years back, at a highway rest stop there was one of those penny pressing machines and I couldn't resist this one. Thought I'd share it here for grins ;D

Very cool.
A few years ago we were visiting Baltimore and they happened to be placing a statue of Frank in front of a library in the neighborhood he lived in. Zappa Plays Zappa did a free set on a stage in the middle of the street, and the whole Zappa family was there for the statue dedication. They had the trees decorated as Dental Floss Bushes...
Thanks for this thread. I am huge Zappa fan and love his collaborative work with Captain Beefheart. "Can't Remember What Became of Me...Carolina Hardcore Ecstasy."

Frank's band in '88 was highly regarded. There was an album released with this lineup called The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life.
