The First Snow

#220268 1 year, 8 months ago
I saw your face in the fading light
Soft, warm and vibrant
I felt your lashes in the falling flakes
Drifting slowly past your eyes

The air was chilled in the early morn
A grey stiffness in the sky
Your voice bounced playfully in my head
As dreams of sunshine filled my thoughts

There’s a clearness in my vision today
Pausing suddenly in the moment
Finding uniqueness in the familiar
Like urgently ascending from a cave

I felt your warmth beneath layers of clothing
In the quiet strumming of a folk guitar
When the distance between us has been harmonized
In the lilting memory of your sandy hair

I saw your gentle way about me
In the swirling of our first snow
I am always walking with you
In careful ways you’ll never know.

Really nice. Just what I needed today.
I can't come down, it's plain to see.
I can't come down, I've been set free.
Who you are, and what you do,
don't make no difference to me.

Finding uniqueness in the familiar is a good feeling!

Nicely done.
